PlayCreate is an after-school club where kids bring their ideas to life through both technology and hands-on creative experiences. Some weeks they’ll be designing video games or digital comic strips on the computer. Other weeks, they’ll take part in special Screen-Free Activity Weeks that get them building, inventing, experimenting, and creating in new ways. The program is built to spark creativity, collaboration, and confidence in a fun, flexible environment where kids of all experience levels can thrive.

Families love the flexibility PlayCreate offers. Kids can start with a free trial to see if it’s a good fit, and you can choose the registration option that works best for your schedule. There’s no prior experience required — just curiosity and a willingness to create! Whether your child attends for a few weeks or the entire school year, they’ll take part in a wide variety of creative experiences and projects, with new themes and activities to look forward to each month.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who will be leading the club?

At least one trained TechBrainiacs club leader will be there to lead each session. In many cases, these club leaders are staff members at the school.

We are always looking for qualified instructors to help us grow. Please contact us if you would like to find out more about employment opportunities.

What will my child be doing in the club?

Each week in PlayCreate, kids bring their ideas to life through a mix of hands-on creative activities and digital projects. Some weeks they’ll work on the computer, designing video games, digital stories, or comic strips. Other weeks, they’ll take part in special Screen-Free Activity Weeks that get them building, inventing, and exploring in new ways. Every session is designed to spark creativity, collaboration, and confidence. No two weeks are exactly the same!

Can my child try it out first?

Yes! All students are eligible for a free trial session. This gives your child a chance to experience the club and see if it’s a good fit before you commit to additional sessions. You can request a free trial right from the registration form.

What if my child has never done any thing like this before?

No prior experience is needed! PlayCreate is designed to be welcoming and flexible for students of all experience levels. Whether your child is new to creative tech tools or already loves drawing, storytelling, or building, they’ll be able to jump in and participate at their own pace.

What are the different payment options?

We offer several flexible registration options to fit your family’s needs. You can register for a single session, a full semester, the full school year, or choose our monthly membership option. You can also start with a free trial before deciding which option works best for you. Full details are available in the Registration Options section of the page.

What if my child needs to miss a week or take a break?

No problem! We know that families have busy schedules. Our flexible registration options and credit policies are designed to accommodate occasional absences. You can always contact us if you have specific questions about how missed sessions will be handled based on your chosen registration option.

What is your refund policy?

If you are not completely satisfied after your child attends their first club meeting, please let us know and you will receive a full refund for any unused sessions*.

No refunds will be issued after a child has attended a second time. If your child attends a free trial, any paid sessions thereafter will be non-refundable. Memberships may be canceled at any time, but we will be unable to provide refunds for unused class sessions prior to expiration.

At the end of the school year, you will receive credit for any unused sessions (not applicable to memberships). This credit may be applied towards future clubs or camps.

*Processing fees may apply.

Will my child be able to work from home?

Yes! All of the sites we use in club will also allow our students to sign in from home. They are free to continue working on their projects between sessions. We suggest setting aside some time periodically to have them log in and share their creations.

Do you offer any discounts?

We make it a point to offer the lowest possible prices to everyone.

You will receive a small price break when you sign up for one of our full semester or full school year options.

In addition, we are happy to offer a one-time per year $20 discount (per child) to all educators, first responders, and military families. This discount can be self-selected on our registration page and your total will be automatically adjusted.

What happens if there is an emergency during club time?

The safety of your children is extremely important to us. Our adult leaders are there to ensure rules are being followed and everyone is participating safely. Please discuss with your child the importance of being safe, respectful, and responsive to their instructors’ directions.

In the event that a situation arises that requires emergency medical attention, we will:

  1. Administer immediate first aid/CPR.
  2. Contact 911.
  3. Notify parent/guardian or emergency contact.
  4. Arrange transport to nearest/preferred hospital (if necessary).
  5. File accident/medical incident report.
