A Bit About Binary
Las Vegas Library
Sunday, April 26th – 12:45-1:45
We are very excited to announce that we will be hosting an event as part of the Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival’s Science is Everywhere Day, which is happening this year on Sunday, April 26th. TechBrainiacs will be presenting a FREE Hour of Code workshop entitled “A Bit About Binary” at the Las Vegas Library. This workshop is geared towards kids and teens between 7-17 years old. We’ll get started at 12:45 in the large conference room.
During this Hour of Code workshop, your child will learn a bit about the binary number system and how it relates to computing. They will also learn how the letters we type on our keyboards and see on our screens are encoded in binary. Best of all, they’ll even have a chance to do some of their own binary coding in the form of a take-home binary bracelet or bit magnet!
This workshop is being presented by Jeremy Bruner, the founder and head educator at TechBrainiacs. Mr. Bruner is also a former CCSD elementary teacher with experience in 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade. TechBrainiacs offers classes that teach kids computer science, video game design, computer programming, and more.
Space is limited and we do recommend that you RSVP to reserve your spot. To do so, visit the event page here or click the button below to be taken directly to the registration page.RSVP now!
