We are very excited to announce that we will be again be hosting a free community event as part of the Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival’s Science is Everywhere Day 2017. It’s all happening this year on Sunday, April 30th from 2-3 pm at the Enterprise Library. The address is 25 E. Shelbourne Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123.
Did you know kids can learn Computer Science without the computers? You bet! Presented by TechBrainiacs, this workshop will give attendees a chance to practice some coding basics with a fun, hands-on activity. Take-home pages will be provided for extra learning. While geared especially towards kids 5-15 years old, we welcome learners of all ages at this event.
This workshop is being presented by Jeremy Bruner, the founder and head educator of TechBrainiacs. Mr. Bruner is also a former CCSD elementary teacher with experience in 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade. TechBrainiacs offers classes that make learning about computer science and technology fun for kids and teens. Topics include computer science and coding, video game design, Minecraft modding, and more.
Attendance is limited and preregistration is recommended. This does not guarantee entry. On the day of the event, we ask that you arrive no later than 15 minutes before the start of the event to receive an entry ticket. If any tickets remain, walk-ups will be admitted five minutes before the event starts. We will begin promptly at 2:00 pm.
