Recommended Ages: 9-18 (4th-12th grade)
Typical group size: 8 students

Prerequisite skills: Your child should be familiar with Minecraft concepts and controls. They should also have a basic understanding of computer file systems (i.e. how to navigate folders, copy/paste, load/save/create files, etc.). They must be comfortable using the keyboard and mouse/trackpad. Programming experience is helpful but not necessary. Most importantly, they must be able to follow spoken and written directions.

Technical requirements: At this time, Minecraft classes are only being offered at our Las Vegas West location where computers with Minecraft installed are set up for our students to use. Unless otherwise specified, your child will not need to bring their own computer or have their own Minecraft account for this class.

In this follow-up to our popular Minecraft Modding 101 class, we’ll go beyond making surface level changes to the game and actually modify the Minecraft code to add new blocks, items, features, and more. Students will become familiar with basic Java programming concepts and will create a variety of mods throughout this six session class. At the end of the class, they will be able to download their mods to use them at home and share them with friends.

We will be offering additional Minecraft classes in the future. Keep checking the Classes page and sign up for our mailing list so we can send you updates, discounts, and other special offers.
