Spring Break Creativity Camp
Recommended ages: 7-12 (Grades 1-7)

TechBrainiacs Creativity Camps are the perfect combination of fun and learning! There’s no better way to keep your child engaged and having fun over Spring Break. Each day will feature different themed activities, including beginner and advanced coding projects, Minecraft modding, making and playing video and board games, designing and publishing their own web pages, and more. Of course, there will be time to play Minecraft each day on our own customized server, plus LEGO free play, crafts, and other unplugged activities that will give the kids a break from their screens.
Camp will run Monday through Friday from 8:30 am-4:30 pm. Optional extended care may be available. Please inquire if you would like to make arrangements for early drop off or late pick up.
Please plan to pack a lunch each day except for Friday when we will be supplying a pizza party for all campers.
Monday – Minecraft and Modding
Campers will work together and in competition to complete Minecraft challenges on our own customized multiplayer server. They will also learn how to create and safely download modifications for the game. There will be time for free play, plus other activities throughout the day.
Tuesday – Game Design
Campers will learn the FUNdamentals of video game design with Gamestar Mechanic, Scratch, Sploder, and other beginner level game design tools. We’ll also be playing and modifying board games, card games, and other physical games such as Rock, Paper, Scissors
Wednesday – Web Design
Campers will learn the basics of HTML5 and CSS3 coding as they create and prepare to publish their own web pages. We’ll talk about how to choose eye-catching color schemes, find images, create a blog, and much more.
Thursday – Python Game Programming
Campers will learn the ins and outs of the advanced (but still beginner friendly) Python programming language. After learning some basics, they will work on coding their first game project.
Friday – Portal Puzzle Design
Campers will be playing the critically acclaimed Portal physics puzzle game series. They will work together to use the included Portal puzzle creator to design, test, and publish their own levels.
Camp will be held at the Las Vegas Professional Institute of Technology located at 2625 S. Rainbow Blvd. Building A, Las Vegas, NV 89146. Our space has computers set up for use, as well as a large flat screen for movies.
